Board-to-board header for standard 0.100" grids
The 87916-425HLF is a 25-position, single-row, unshrouded header from the FCI BERGSTIK® II series. It uses the industry-standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch — the same grid as perfboard and legacy breadboard layouts — so it drops into a standard through-hole footprint without a custom pad pattern.
The 0.100" pitch and single-row layout mean this header mates with any standard 0.100" square-post receptacle — the most common footprint in through-hole board-to-board design. The 25-position count is less common than 20 or 24; double-check the BOM position count before committing. The tin-on-tin contact finish (100.0 µin on the mating side, tin on the post) is rated for limited mating cycles — typically 50 to 100 mates before fretting becomes a concern. This is a cost-optimized finish for one-time assembly or infrequent reconnection, not for field-service duty with repeated unmate/mate cycles. The phosphor bronze contact spring and UL94 V-0 black housing are standard for equipment-grade interconnect. The 0.830" (21.08 mm) mating pin length gives good wipe for reliable contact in moderate-vibration environments, though the push-pull fastening means it relies on the header-receptacle friction fit — no locking latch.
