Surface-Mount Termination and Housing Details
Termination is solder-only — surface-mount pads on the bottom of the receptacle. No press-fit or through-hole option here; the SMD footprint keeps both sides of the board clear for routing. The housing is gray thermoplastic, glass-filled, rated UL94 V-0. The connector accepts bottom or top entry — the contact design allows the mating header to approach from either side of the board, which gives flexibility in mezzanine stacking orientation.
The base product number is 89898; the -308LF suffix specifies the 16-position, tube-packaged variant. For tape-and-reel with pick-and-place features, the alternate 89898-308ALF shares the same footprint and ratings.
