The 89898-312LF: The 24 circuits loaded across two rows match a standard 0.100" square-pin header — the same pitch used on legacy wire-wrap and press-fit backplane connectors, so the footprint fits a wide range of existing board layouts.
At 30 µinch, the gold layer resists fretting corrosion and maintains contact resistance through several hundred mating cycles; the tin-plated solder tails (78.7 µinch / 2.00 µm) keep the SMT solder joint cost-effective without compromising the signal path.
Surface-Mount Assembly and Housing
Termination is solder-only — surface-mount, so the part reflows in the same pass as other SMDs. No through-hole wave solder step, which simplifies the assembly line for a mixed-technology board.
