Board Fit and Current Ceiling
The push-pull fastening relies on friction from the receptacle contact beams; in a high-vibration environment, a secondary lock or adhesive may be needed.
Mating Surface and Cycle Life
For a connector cycled quarterly in field service, this plating grade supports well over 500 mating cycles before the contact resistance drifts — essentially a lifetime of reconnects for most board-to-board applications. Post tails are tin-plated (39.4 µinch), which wets well in wave solder and press-fit into standard plated through holes. The 0.142" post length gives clearance for a typical 1.6 mm board with a solder fillet.
