Board-to-Board Header, 26 Circuits, 0.100" Pitch
The post (solder tail) receives a tin finish for reliable wave-solder wetting.
The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch is the de facto standard for breadboard-compatible headers — any mating receptacle with the same pitch and a 0.025" square pin cavity will fit. The 26 positions are fully loaded (all positions populated), so the BOM line count must match exactly; there are no optional empty positions to work around. At this thickness, the contact surface resists oxidation and fretting corrosion through hundreds of mating cycles — relevant if this header lives in a test fixture, a programming jig, or a field-serviceable assembly that sees repeated connect/disconnect. For a one-time permanent solder joint, tin would suffice; for reconnect duty, the gold pays for itself in contact reliability. The pins extend 0.160" (4.06 mm) above the insulator for mating, and the insulator stands 0.190" (4.83 mm) off the board. The stack height between boards depends on the mating receptacle's own height — confirm the mated pair clearance in your enclosure.
Unshrouded Design — What It Means for Assembly
This header has no plastic shroud around the pins. The unshrouded format keeps the board footprint compact and the component cost low, but it offers no physical protection against a misaligned or reversed mate. In production, a jig or a keyed receptacle housing is the usual safeguard.
