42-Position Dual-Row Unshrouded Header for Board Stacking
The Amphenol FCI 95687-142HLF is a 42-position dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board interconnects on a standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch. It carries male square pins with a 0.360" (9.14 mm) mating length and a 0.360" (9.14 mm) post length for through-hole soldering. The mating contact finish is 30.0 µin (0.76 µm) gold or GXT™, rated for repeated insertion cycles in production or field service. Rated 5 A per circuit at 110 V, it handles signal-level current across the full 42-position load.
The 5 A per-circuit rating is typical for a 2.54 mm pitch header — the limiting factor is the temperature rise through the phosphor bronze contact and the housing material, not the contact cross-section. At 42 positions fully loaded, the total current through the connector is the sum of each circuit's load, so the board designer needs to consider the total thermal budget across the mated pair. The 110 V voltage rating gives adequate creepage for signal-level board interconnects within an enclosure; it is not sized for mains or bus-level distribution. The gold or GXT™ plating on the mating surface, at 30.0 µin (0.76 µm), is the real differentiator — it supports hundreds of mating cycles without oxide buildup, making this header suitable for production test fixtures, modular boards that get swapped, or any application where the connector sees repeated matings.
