The 30.0 µin (0.76 µm) gold or GXT™ plating on the mating surface provides the cycle life and corrosion resistance expected for field-serviceable connections — not a one-time solder joint. The through-hole solder termination and 0.360" (9.14 mm) post length give a solid mechanical anchor on the board, while the unshrouded design keeps the profile low and allows direct access to the pins for probing or mating with a standard female socket strip.
For the board layout engineer: the 0.100" x 0.100" grid is a BergStik standard. The overall contact length is 0.820" (20.83 mm), with a 0.360" mating length and a 0.360" post length. The insulation height above the board is 0.100" (2.54 mm). These dimensions define the keep-out zone and the stack height when mated with a receptacle.
