Board-to-Board Header on a Standard Grid
The phosphor bronze spring beam holds contact force across temperature swings inside the UL94 V-0 black housing. Overall contact length is 0.820" (20.83mm), split evenly: 0.360" (9.14mm) above the board for the mating interface and 0.360" (9.14mm) below for the solder tail. That tail length clears a standard 0.062" board with room for a wave-solder fillet.
No shroud means the 0.025" square pins are fully exposed above the insulation body. That saves board real estate — the header footprint is just the pin field plus the body width — but leaves the pins vulnerable to bending if the mating receptacle is misaligned during blind-mate assembly. This header is a good fit for a jig-guided board stack where the alignment is controlled by tooling pins or board edge guides. For a free-hanging cable application, a shrouded header would protect the pins better. In a high-vibration environment, a secondary retention method (board screws, potting, or a locking header) would be needed. For a low-vibration internal board stack, the friction fit is adequate.
