Breakaway Header for Board-Stacking Layouts
The 98401-101-18LF is an 18-position, dual-row breakaway header from the BERGSTIK® series. The unshrouded push-pull fastening means there is no polarisation key; the header mates in either orientation, so the board layout must ensure the receptacle is aligned correctly during assembly.
Current Rating and Contact Material
The square male pin, 0.230" (5.84 mm) mating length, provides enough wipe for reliable contact with standard box or tuning-fork receptacles.
No official cross-reference or pin-compatible replacement from the original manufacturer. The BERGSTIK® series includes many 0.100" pitch breakaway headers with different position counts and plating options; confirm the BOM position count and mating half before committing.
Operating temperature range -65°C to 130°C covers most industrial and telecom enclosures. Contact finish on the solder post is tin, 78.7 µinch (2.00 µm) thick — compatible with standard lead-free reflow profiles. The GXT™ gold on the mating face is a proprietary high-durability alloy, not pure gold, but the 30 µinch thickness still meets the 500-cycle benchmark for gold-plated contacts.
