Signal Current and Contact Interface
Gold flash at 1.97 µinch (0.050 µm) on the mating face provides corrosion protection for the rated 30 mating cycles. In a one-time assembly or occasional disconnect scenario, that is adequate — but for repeated field service the thin plating will wear through sooner than a 15 µinch or 30 µinch gold contact. ZIF (zero insertion force) actuation — the slide lock opens the contact beams so the FPC slides in without scraping the pads, then the lock clamps the cable in place. This prevents pad damage on thin FPCs.
Cable and Actuator Compatibility
The cable end can be straight or tapered — the contact beams are on the top side of the connector, so the cable's conductive pads face upward when inserted. Slide lock actuator is black polyamide (PA9T) glass-filled, halogen-free. The housing is natural LCP glass-filled, UL94 V-0 rated — the LCP handles reflow temperatures without warping.
