The Amphenol RF PSMP-FSBA-1042 is a straight, in-line adapter that joins two PSMP plug connectors with female socket contacts on both ends. It is a same-series adapter — PSMP to PSMP — so it extends or reroutes a PSMP signal path without changing the interface. The adapter is built around a 50 Ohm impedance, rated from DC to 10 GHz, which covers the full operating band of the PSMP series. The body is machined from beryllium copper with a white bronze finish, and the centre contacts are gold-plated beryllium copper. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) dielectric isolates the centre conductor. Fastening is snap-on on both ends, and the adapter is free-hanging (in-line), meaning it floats in the cable run rather than mounting to a panel.
The adapter is rated to 10 GHz and 50 Ohm. The gold-plated centre contacts maintain low resistance across 100 mating cycles.
Material and Environmental Reach
The beryllium copper body and centre contacts give the adapter good spring properties and electrical conductivity. The white bronze body finish is a nickel-tin alloy that resists corrosion and provides a consistent surface for the snap-on retention. That temperature range covers military storage and operation, industrial ovens, and satellite thermal cycling. The adapter is rated for 100 mating cycles — the snap-on detent wears with each mate, so for permanent installs the cycle count is irrelevant, but for test and measurement setups where the adapter is connected and disconnected regularly, plan the replacement interval accordingly.
