The PSMP-FSBA-1755 is a straight PSMP plug-to-plug adapter with a female-to-female center contact, designed for in-line, free-hanging RF connections. It belongs to the PSMP series, a snap-on interface family used where a smaller footprint than SMP is needed but similar RF performance is required. The adapter mates two PSMP plugs end-to-end, making it useful for extending a signal path or re-routing a cable assembly without cutting or re-terminating. The body is machined from beryllium copper with a white bronze finish, giving it good conductivity and corrosion resistance for repeated matings in test setups or equipment racks.
The 10 GHz ceiling covers L-band through X-band applications, including satellite downlinks, radar front-ends, and wideband data links. The snap-on fastening on both ends provides quick connect and disconnect without tools, but the retention force is lower than a threaded coupling. In a vibration environment, the adapter relies on the mating connectors' own snap-on detents to stay mated; it is not designed for high-shock or continuous flex applications.
Mating Cycles and Contact Plating
Rated for 100 mating cycles. The white bronze body finish is harder than standard plating and resists galling on the snap-on detent surfaces.
Temperature Range and Materials
The PTFE dielectric remains stable across that range with minimal dielectric constant drift, so the impedance holds. Beryllium copper body and center contact maintain spring force at both temperature extremes — important if the adapter lives in an outdoor enclosure that sees freeze-thaw cycles or near a heat source.
