The Amphenol RF PSMP-FSBA-2380 is a PSMP-series female-to-female adapter, configured as a straight plug-to-plug in-line coupler. It joins two PSMP-terminated cables or modules with a snap-on mate, maintaining a 50 Ohm transmission path through the junction. The adapter is free-hanging — no panel mount — so it lives in the cable run, not on a bulkhead.
10 GHz Ceiling and 50 Ohm Line
Rated to 10 GHz maximum frequency with a 50 Ohm characteristic impedance, this adapter slots into any 50 Ohm PSMP link without introducing a lumped discontinuity. The PTFE dielectric supports the full band — the limiting factor is the snap-on interface repeatability, not the dielectric loss. For signal paths that never see above 10 GHz, this adapter is electrically transparent.
100 Mating Cycles — Field Life Expectancy
The snap-on coupling is rated for 100 mating cycles. That is a practical limit for test-set interconnects or field-swapped modules where the adapter gets cycled a few times per service event. Beyond that, the snap detent wears and the retention force drops. On a permanently installed cable run that is mated once, the cycle count is irrelevant — the gold-on-gold contact interface will outlast the cable.
Temperature Range and Materials
The beryllium copper body and centre contacts hold their spring properties across that span — no relaxation at the hot end, no brittleness at the cold end. The White Bronze body finish is a corrosion-resistant alternative to standard plating; it handles humidity and salt-fog exposure better than nickel, which matters if this adapter lives in an outdoor cabinet or near a cooling vent.
