The limited detent gives a defined tactile stop without the full locking force of a threaded coupling, so it releases under a controlled pull — useful where the cable needs to break away cleanly rather than yank the pad off the board.
Durability and Contact Finish
Rated for 100 mating cycles. That is a solid number for a snap-on RF connector — enough for test points, module change-outs, or field-swappable line-replaceable units where the connector sees tens of mates over its life, not hundreds. The gold-on-brass center contact and gold body finish resist corrosion and maintain low contact resistance across those cycles. If the application needs thousands of mates, a threaded or push-pull connector family is a better fit.
