SMP Barrel Adapter for 26.5 GHz Signal Paths
The SMP-FSBA-145 is a straight SMP plug-to-plug adapter, female-to-female, from the SMP-FSBA series. It is a same-series barrel adapter that joins two SMP male connectors end-to-end, maintaining a 50 Ohm impedance path through the junction. This adapter is built for free-hanging, in-line use where a rigid RF interconnect needs to bridge two SMP jacks without a bulkhead feedthrough.
26.5 GHz Bandwidth and 50 Ohm Impedance
The 26.5 GHz maximum frequency covers the full Ku-band and most of the K-band, making this adapter suitable for satellite communications, radar test setups, and microwave instrumentation. The 50 Ohm impedance matches the standard RF system impedance — no impedance transformer needed when inserting this barrel between two 50 Ohm SMP ports. The straight body keeps the signal path short and the insertion loss low; a right-angle adapter would add a reflective discontinuity at these frequencies.
Snap-On Mating and Free-Hanging Installation
Both ends use the SMP snap-on fastening — push to engage, pull to disengage. No threads, no torque wrench.
Temperature Range and Materials
Gold plating on both the body and centre contacts prevents oxidation in humid or corrosive environments.
