3.5 mm stereo jack — 3 conductors, 5 contacts
The SJ1-3545N is the 3-conductor TRS member of CUI Devices' SJ1 phone jack series, accepting a 3.50 mm (1/8") mini plug with a 0.551" (14.00 mm) mating depth. Rated 1 A at 12 VDC, it mounts through-hole right-angle with kinked pins and includes two internal switches for contact detection.
Contact arrangement and switching
The 3-conductor TRS configuration routes left, right, and ground signals across 5 contacts; the two internal switches detect plug insertion or tip-ring bridging. Nickel and tin plating on the brass and copper alloy contacts provides sufficient cycle life for consumer and light-industrial audio jacks.
