Where the VH series fits
The JST VH series sits at 3.96 mm pitch in the board-to-cable power header range — a step up from compact signal-density headers and below larger power formats. The B2P-VH-FB-B(LF)(SN) is the 2-circuit member; the 3-circuit version carries the same 10 A and 250 V ratings at the identical 3.96 mm pitch and shroud geometry, so a panel cutout specified for the 2-position drops in a 3-position as a straight position-count change.
What the ratings mean for the fit
10 A per circuit at 250 V marks this as a power-range board-to-cable header rather than a signal-density part. The 10 A figure is per contact, not a derated total — a 2-position header running two independent power rails carries 10 A on each circuit simultaneously. The tin plating on both the mating interface and the solder post is consistent across the VH family; it drives the -25°C to 85°C operating window and the suitability for indoor industrial environments without the elevated mating-cycle demands that would push toward gold. The shrouded 4-wall body with the locking ramp is the mechanical interlock that matters in a harness run: the shroud guides the mating connector into alignment and the ramp locks it with audible confirmation, which matters in equipment that sees vibration in the field. The board guide feature on the housing face helps alignment during through-hole insertion into a populated PCB — it keeps the header from drifting off-pad before the solder wave stabilises it. 0.146 inch (3.70 mm) post length and 0.433 inch (11.00 mm) insulation height are the board-profiling figures — the 3.70 mm tail gives adequate stand-off for most wave-solder processes while the 11 mm body height determines how much clearance the adjacent components need in the z-axis.
Second-source check
B2P-VH-FB-B is the bare-tin equivalent without the lead-free suffix — same pitch (3.96 mm), same 10 A at 250 V, same shroud geometry, same locking ramp and board guide. The (LF)(SN) designation adds only the lead-free tin plating interpretation; electrically and mechanically they are drop-in equivalents for a through-hole panel header. If the BOM already carries B2P-VH-FB-B, B2P-VH-FB-B(LF)(SN) cross-books cleanly with no layout change.
