Ratings that drive the fit
The B2PS-VH header is rated 10 A per circuit; the PA66 insulator limits continuous use to 85 °C — derate current above that ceiling per the thermal derating curve.
Where the VH series fits
The shrouded 1-wall body on the B2PS-VH protects the contact interface from accidental shorting during handling before the mating housing is assembled.
Same series, different orientation
The B2P-VH carries identical electrical ratings — 10 A, 250 V, 2 positions, 0.156" pitch, tin-plated — in a vertical-mount through-hole body. The only delta is the right-angle versus vertical orientation, which means the B2P-VH cannot drop into a panel or enclosure cutout that was laid out for the right-angle B2PS-VH without a layout change. The B3PS-VH extends the same right-angle body to 3 positions — same pitch, same current and voltage, same locking ramp — useful if the circuit count grows but the board footprint must stay in the VH family. A B2P-VH-FB-B variant adds board-guide features and full 4-wall shrouding but uses a copper alloy contact material and is not a direct cross-reference without checking the guide geometry against your enclosure tooling.
Compliance and sourcing
The B2PS-VH is Active in production with a RoHS non-compliant status — the tin plating and the PA66 material composition do not meet current EU REACH / RoHS substance restrictions, which means this part cannot be specified into new EU-market products without a RoHS exemption or a formal REACH review. For domestic or non-EU end-markets the non-compliant flag is a non-issue.
