The JST 09DB-6S(LF) is a 9-position IDC connector from the DB series, designed for discrete wire-to-board termination. It uses a 0.098" (2.50mm) board-side pitch — the same spacing as the cable pitch — so the footprint on the PCB matches the wire layout exactly, simplifying routing for a 9-circuit harness. The press-fit through-hole mounting means no solder is required at the board interface; the compliant pin deforms into the plated hole, giving a gas-tight connection that survives rework cycles without desoldering damage. The white housing and closed-end design prevent mis-insertion of the cable past the last contact.
Cable termination is IDC — the insulation is displaced by the contact tines as the cover is pressed down, making contact with the conductor without stripping. The specified wire range is 24-28 AWG stranded; solid wire of the same gauge will work but the IDC slot is optimized for the strand bundle compliance. The tin-lead contact finish mates with the matching header's pins; tin-lead is a standard choice for moderate-cycle applications where cost matters more than gold's corrosion resistance.
