The JST PHR-16 is a 16-circuit, single-row receptacle housing from the JST PH series. It uses a 2.00 mm pitch, making it a compact wire-to-board interconnect for internal harnesses in consumer electronics, appliances, and industrial control panels. The free-hanging (in-line) mounting lets it plug directly onto a matching PH-series pin header soldered to the PCB. Rated for an operating range of -25°C to 85°C, the housing suits indoor environments where it won't see extreme heat or direct moisture. The 2.00 mm pitch keeps board footprint small while still allowing enough creepage for low-voltage signal and power circuits typical of the PH series.
Mating and Termination — What You Need to Order
The PHR-16 is a receptacle housing only — it does not include contacts. You need to source the matching JST PH-series crimp terminals (female socket contacts) separately and terminate them to your wire using the appropriate crimp tool. The contacts are inserted into the housing from the rear until the detent lock clicks, confirming full seating. The housing mates with any JST PH-series pin header of the same circuit count and pitch — the single-row keying ensures it only goes on one way. The crimp termination method means you need a controlled-cycle crimp tool for the terminal gauge you're using — hand tools for low volume, pneumatic or automatic for production. The free-hanging design gives you flexibility in harness routing, but the wire must be strain-relieved externally since the housing itself provides no cable clamp.
