21-Position 3-Row Receptacle for Multi-Conductor Harnesses
The JST YLR-21V is a 21-circuit receptacle housing from the YL series, built for wire-to-wire or wire-to-board connections where you need a dense 3-row layout at a 0.177" (4.50mm) pitch. It's a free-hanging (in-line) housing that takes male pin crimp terminals — you order the contacts separately.
3-Row Layout vs 2-Row Siblings
The YLR-21V uses a 3-row contact arrangement, unlike the 2-row YLR-16V (16 positions) and YLR-06V (6 positions). That third row lets you pack 21 circuits into a housing that's wider than a 2-row part but shorter in length — useful when your harness breakout needs more circuits than a 2-row can fit at the same pitch. The YLR-09V also uses 3 rows but only carries 9 positions, so the 21V gives you the full row density for a high-circuit-count bundle.
Mates with the matching YL series pin header (male pin side) at the same 4.50mm pitch. The latch holder locks audibly when fully seated — gives you vibration resistance without needing a screw or tool. The free-hanging design lets you route the harness without a board mount.
