Termination and Contacts
The contact termination is crimp, which means you'll need the correct JST hand tool or a compatible die set to get a consistent gas-tight connection on the wire.
The friction lock is the retention mechanism — it's a molded ramp on the housing that snaps over a corresponding feature on the mating header. It's not a full latch, so it won't withstand heavy cable pull, but it does prevent accidental disconnection in a static harness.
