JST 11DB-6S(LF) — 11-Position IDC Header at 2.50mm Pitch
The JST 11DB-6S(LF) is an 11-circuit, single-row IDC connector from the DB series, designed for mass-terminating ribbon cable to a board interface. The 11 positions are fully loaded, meaning every slot in the housing carries a contact; there are no optional or dummy positions. Termination is IDC on the cable side — the insulation displacement forks pierce 24-28 AWG stranded wire in one press stroke. On the board side, the termination is through-hole press-fit: the tails are pressed into plated through-holes without solder. That makes the connector rework-friendly and avoids thermal stress on the housing, but the press-fit hole diameter and PCB thickness tolerance need to match the tail geometry from the product drawing. The housing is white, with a closed-end design that prevents the cable from pushing through the connector body. Contact finish is tin-lead — a legacy plating that mates reliably but does not carry the same mating-cycle endurance as gold. For a fixed harness that is mated once and left, tin-lead is adequate; for repeated disconnect/reconnect duty, a gold-plated sibling would be the better call.
Press-Fit Board Mount — No Solder, No Reflow
The through-hole press-fit mounting sets this apart from a standard solder-tail IDC header. The compliant press-fit pin is cold-inserted into the PCB via, creating a gas-tight interference joint. That means no solder paste, no wave solder, and no reflow profile to manage — useful in a mixed-technology assembly where the connector goes on after reflow. It also means the connector can be removed and replaced without desoldering, as long as the plated-through hole survives the insertion force. The trade-off is that the PCB supplier must hold the plated hole diameter within the press-fit pin's specified range, or the retention force drops off.
