12-Position Vertical FFC – BOM Fit and Board Layout
The 0.5 A per-contact rating and 50 V limit suit low-power signal paths inside a control board or display interconnect. The vertical orientation (contacts, vertical – 1 sided) means the FFC inserts straight down; the 5.10 mm height above board sets the clearance needed under the mating cable or a housing lid.
Vertical vs. Right-Angle – Which FMN for Your Board Edge?
The sibling 12FMN-SMT-A-TF uses the same 1.00 mm pitch and 0.5 A rating but mounts right-angle, bringing the FFC parallel to the board surface at a 3.00 mm height.
Cable Thickness and Termination Check
Tin contact finish on phosphor bronze base. Solder termination – the SMD pads reflow during standard lead-free profiles. No press-fit or through-hole anchor; the board lock relies on the solder joint alone for shear resistance from cable strain.
