The JST 24PS-JMCS-G-1B-TF(N)(LF)(SN) is a 24-position plug from the JMC series, designed for fine-pitch FPC interconnects where board space is at a premium. Its 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch packs 24 circuits into a dual-row, right-angle SMT package that sits just 0.170" (4.33mm) above the board — a common height for compact handheld or portable equipment enclosures. Gold contact finish is standard here, which suits applications requiring repeated mating cycles or operation in mildly corrosive environments — the gold layer resists oxidation better than tin on the thin FPC pads.
Gold contacts on the mating interface support a higher number of insertion/withdrawal cycles than tin-plated alternatives, which matters if the FPC is disconnected during field service or calibration.
This is the plug (male) half of the JMC FPC connection. It mates with the corresponding JMC series receptacle (female) that accepts the flexible printed circuit. Termination is surface-mount on the plug side — the FPC itself is inserted into the receptacle and retained by the connector's locking mechanism. The outer shroud contacts on this plug align with the receptacle's inner contacts during mating.
