Board-to-board mezzanine receptacle, 0.50 mm pitch
The 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch packs 50 circuits into a narrow footprint — typical for board-to-board stacking in compact handheld devices, camera modules, or display interconnects where PCB real estate is tight. Gold plating on the contacts gives it the mating-cycle durability for assemblies that go through multiple rework or field-service cycles.
Stack height flexibility for z-axis clearance
This receptacle mates with JMD series headers to achieve three mated stacking heights: 4.5mm, 5mm, and 6mm. That range gives the board layout engineer room to fit the connector pair between boards with different component keep-out zones or enclosure depths. The 0.122" (3.10mm) height above board of the receptacle alone sets the bottom half of that stack — the header height determines the final gap.
Position count and pitch — matching the BOM line
At 50 positions, this is the mid-range density option in the JMD series. The 60-position sibling (60R-JMDSS-G-1-TF(S)(LF)(SN)) shares the same 0.50mm pitch and 3.10mm board height, so the footprint pad layout is identical — only the number of active signal lines changes.
