Header Overview
The JST B6P-VH(LF)(SN) is a 6-circuit, single-row header from the VH series, designed for board-to-cable/wire power interconnects. It carries a 0.156" (3.96mm) mating pitch, which gives enough creepage for the 250V rating without forcing an oversized board footprint, and is rated 10A per circuit — that is bus-level current for a DC rail or power distribution, not a signal line. The header is shrouded on one wall with a locking ramp fastening system, so the mating housing clicks in and stays put under vibration, a common requirement in appliance and industrial harness assemblies. The housing is molded from UL94 V-0 rated polyamide (PA66), which is required for equipment inside an enclosure. Tin plating on both the mating and post sides keeps the contact resistance stable for the rated current, though the tin-on-tin interface means this header is best suited for applications with a limited number of mating cycles — the locking ramp secures the connection in the field without relying on frequent reconnects.
Mating and Termination
This header mates with the JST VH series receptacle housing, which accepts crimp terminals for 18-22 AWG wire. The locking ramp on the header engages the matching latch on the housing — you will hear it click when fully seated. The through-hole solder tails are 0.146" (3.70mm) long, and the overall contact length is 0.575" (14.60mm), giving a mated stack height of 16.5mm from the board surface to the top of the mated housing.
