3 A Tin-Plated Contacts — Signal Duty, Moderate Cycling
Tin is cost-effective for applications with fewer than 25 mating cycles; for higher reconnect duty, the PA series also offers gold-plated variants (S05B-PASK-2(LF)(SN) is tin). The 3 A rating is typical for signal-level loads — driving a relay coil, a small solenoid, or a sensor interface. Derate current above 85 °C ambient per the datasheet curve.
Mating Half: PA Series Receptacle
This header mates with JST PA series crimp-type receptacle housings, such as the PAP-05V-S. Use the correct crimp terminal (SPHD-002T-P0.5) for 24-28 AWG wire.
Board Layout: 2.00 mm Pitch, Right-Angle Footprint
The 2.00 mm pitch drives the pad pattern — the right-angle through-hole footprint places the solder posts 3.40 mm long on the secondary side. Plan for a keep-out zone around the locking ramp mechanism.
5 vs 6 Circuits — Same Footprint, One More Position
The S06B-PASK-2(LF)(SN) is the 6-position sibling in the same PA series, same 2.00 mm pitch, same right-angle orientation, same tin plating. If the BOM calls for 5 positions, this is the correct part; the 6-position version adds one more circuit on the same pitch without changing the board layout pitch.
