10-Position SMD Right-Angle Header for 1.50mm Pitch Wire-to-Board
Solder Retention and SMD Footprint Considerations
For a right-angle SMD connector, the solder joint is the primary strain-relief point — the retention pads reduce the risk of lifted pads during cable handling. The insulation height of 0.228" (5.80 mm) sets the z-height clearance needed above the PCB for the mating receptacle and cable exit. Board layout engineers should verify that adjacent components do not intrude into this space, especially when routing near the board edge.
Mating Compatibility and Series Position
This header mates with JST ZE series crimp receptacles, which accept 28–32 AWG wire using the appropriate crimp terminal. The 1.50mm pitch is tighter than the common 2.00mm or 2.54mm families, so the mating housing and terminal must be from the same ZE series — there is no cross-compatibility with other JST series at this pitch. The base product number SM10B-ZE indicates the 10-position variant. Within the ZE series, this header shares the same pitch, contact finish, and locking ramp design as other position counts, making it straightforward to consolidate multiple SKUs into one family for harness builds.
