Board Fit and Cable Match
The 1-84534-2: This is a 12-position vertical FFC connector on a 1.25 mm pitch — the footprint takes up about 15 mm of board edge. The through-hole kinked pins anchor it better than an SMT part would in a board that sees vibration or repeated cable insertions. It accepts 0.30 mm thick FFC with a tapered end, and the contact style is 1-sided — the cable's conductor pads must face the contact beam side. Tin plating on the contacts keeps cost down, but if the connector will be mated more than a few dozen times, consider a gold-plated sibling for longer contact life.
Current and Temperature Limits
The housing is glass-filled PBT, which holds its shape through wave solder and gives a UL94 V-0 flame rating. The 7.80 mm height above board leaves room underneath for passives on the opposite side, but check your z-height budget against tall components nearby.
