Active-production 2-position IDC plug for discrete wire
The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch matches standard 0.100" ribbon spacing, but the wire type is listed as discrete, meaning each conductor is terminated individually into the IDC slot. A latch holder secures the mated pair, and the free-hanging (in-line) mount suits harness assembly where a board-mounted header isn't present.
What mates with this plug?
Pin-one orientation is marked by the housing keying; watch it every press.
Unlike ribbon-cable IDC connectors that pierce all conductors in one press, this plug terminates individual 22-26 AWG wires into separate IDC slots. The wire gauge range is tight — 22 AWG is the thickest the slot accepts, 26 AWG the thinnest. Use the correct TE hand tool or press fixture to ensure the insulation displacement blades cut cleanly through the jacket without nicking the conductor. Strain relief is built into the latch holder design; without it, the IDC connection can peel under cable pull.
Sourcing and lifecycle — still in active production
The black housing comes in Tube packaging. No official cross-reference or direct second-source is on record, so match the BOM line to this exact TE part number.
