The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1546073-3 is a 3-position PCB-mount terminal block with a 5.08 mm pitch, designed for wire-to-board termination in industrial control panels, power supplies, and building automation equipment. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the screw pushes a clamp plate down onto the conductor, not the wire itself, so the wire isn't nicked or deformed during termination. The 17.5 A per position rating at 300 V covers most signal-level and low-power distribution circuits inside an enclosure.
The 12-30 AWG wire range accepts fine signal wires up to 12 AWG for power feeds; the rising cage clamp handles solid, stranded, and ferruled conductors.
Mating Orientation and Termination
This is a top-entry (vertical with board) orientation — wires enter perpendicular to the PCB surface, so the block sits flat on the board and the screw terminals face upward. The termination is a screw-driven rising cage clamp: strip the wire to the recommended length, insert it into the clamp opening, and tighten the M3 screw to 0.79 Nm. The clamp rises to press the conductor against the current bar — no crimp tool, no ferrule required for solid or stranded wire. Through-hole mounting pins anchor the block to the PCB; the pins are tin-plated brass for solderability.
