The TE Connectivity SlimSeal 2106056-2 is a 2-position header with male pins, designed for board-to-cable/wire applications. What sets this header apart from a standard unsealed part is the IP67 rating — dust-tight and waterproof when mated with the matching SlimSeal receptacle. That makes it a candidate for outdoor LED lighting, washdown sensors, or any assembly that sees hose spray or condensation.
Current Rating: Wire-Gauge Dependent
With 18-20 AWG wire the header is rated 5A per circuit; drop to 22-24 AWG and the rating falls to 3.5A per circuit. That derating reflects the IR drop and temperature rise in the smaller conductor, not the contact itself. For a 2-position connector, the total current through the pair is double the per-circuit figure, but the wire gauge must match the load on each pin.
Mating Cycles: Semi-Permanent Interconnect
Rated for 30 mating cycles, this header is not intended for frequent disconnect/reconnect — think of it as a semi-permanent interconnect inside a luminaire or a sealed junction box. The tin-plated brass contacts are adequate for that cycle count; if the application requires hundreds of matings, a gold-plated alternative would be needed.
