Terminal Block for PCB Power Distribution
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 282868-3 is a two-level PCB-mount terminal block with 3 positions per level, giving 6 total circuits in a single footprint. The 0.197" (5.00 mm) pitch is wider than typical signal-level blocks — the board layout needs to accommodate the spacing for the 13.5 A per-position current rating and the 300 V voltage rating. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries the interlocking side feature, allowing multiple blocks to be ganged side-by-side on the same assembly without gaps.
Termination and Torque
Wire termination is via a screw - rising cage clamp, accepting 12-30 AWG wire. The M3 screw has a specified torque of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In) — exceeding this can strip the brass-nickel-plated screw or distort the cage. The clamp material is brass with nickel plating, and the contact material is brass with tin plating. The mating orientation is horizontal with the board, meaning the wire entry is parallel to the PCB surface.
