47-position FPC interconnect for dense board-edge routing
The right-angle surface-mount orientation places the cable entry parallel to the PCB, suiting board-edge or low-profile enclosures where z-height is tight at 2.05 mm above board. The gold flash finish on phosphor bronze contacts provides corrosion resistance for moderate mating cycles—adequate for assembly and occasional field service, but not for high-cycle reconnect duty where thicker gold plating would be specified. The ZIF mechanism with a slide lock secures the FPC without insertion force on the contacts, reducing wear during cable installation.
At 0.50 mm pitch, the 47 positions occupy a narrow footprint—roughly 23.5 mm along the connector body. The bottom-contact design means the FPC pads face the PCB, which affects routing of traces under the connector. The 0.30 mm FPC thickness is the accepted standard for this pitch class; the tapered cable end aids insertion into the ZIF mechanism. The thermoplastic actuator withstands repeated ZIF cycles without cracking.
