DIN 41612 C-Style Backplane Receptacle
The board-side keep-out must accommodate the full 96-position pattern, and the hole diameter should match the solder tail dimensions per the product drawing.
Position Count and Row Configuration
At 96 positions loaded across three rows, this receptacle matches the standard DIN 41612 C-style pinout for 96-way backplane slots. The 535098-5 is a 120-position variant in the same Eurocard series, also three rows, for higher-density backplanes that need 24 additional signal or ground positions. Both 535090-5 and 535043-5 are 96-position receptacles identical in pitch, rows, and mounting, differing only in contact finish thickness — 535090-5 carries the same 30.0 µ" gold as the 535090-4, while 535043-5 uses a different plating grade. For a 96-position backplane slot, any of these three 96-position parts fits the same footprint; the choice comes down to the contact finish specification on the BOM.
Mating and Field Replacement
The 30.0 µ" gold contact finish is rated for repeated insertion cycles — typical for backplane applications where cards are swapped during maintenance or reconfiguration. The through-hole solder termination is not field-replaceable without desoldering; if a contact is damaged, the entire connector must be replaced. No locking mechanism is integrated into the receptacle itself; retention comes from the header's mounting hardware or the card cage guide rails.
