8-Power Futurebus Receptacle for Backplane Power Distribution
All 8 positions are loaded as power contacts — no signal pins — so this is a dedicated power interconnect for a daughtercard drawing its main bus voltage from the backplane. The 0.236" (6.00mm) pitch provides enough spacing for the current each blade carries without crowding the board layout. Mounted at the board edge with a right-angle through-hole orientation, the receptacle routes the daughtercard parallel to the backplane — the standard arrangement for a card-cage system.
Gold Flash Contacts — Moderate Mating Cycle Duty
The contact finish is gold with a flash thickness — enough for the moderate cycle life typical of a backplane card edge (hundreds of insertions over the system's service life), but not specified for the thousands of cycles a hot-swap or frequent-reconnect application would demand. For a card that is inserted once at build and only pulled for service, flash gold is adequate; if the card is swapped weekly, upgrade to a thicker gold or a connector rated for higher mating cycles.
