Right-Angle RJ45 Jack with Integrated Status LED
A green/yellow LED is integrated into the jack body — one bicolor indicator for link/activity status without a separate PCB-mount LED. The tab direction is up, meaning the latch on the mating RJ45 plug faces away from the board. Gold contacts with 50.0 µin (1.27 µm) plating on phosphor bronze give the mating interface corrosion resistance and cycle life well beyond the typical service life of a Cat5 link. The thermoplastic housing carries a board guide to align the connector during hand-solder or wave-solder assembly.
The Cat5 rating means this jack is specified for 100 MHz signaling — sufficient for 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) over short to moderate cable runs. It is not rated for Cat5e or Cat6 frequencies (100 MHz and 250 MHz respectively with tighter crosstalk margins), so if the application calls for 10GBASE-T or Power over Ethernet at higher data rates, a Cat6a-rated jack is the correct choice. For standard office LAN, industrial Ethernet at 100 Mbps, or legacy 10/100 networks, the Cat5 rating is adequate and the EMI shielding handles the noise floor in an industrial cabinet.
