Stamped socket contact for AMPLIMITE HDP-20 harnesses
It's the female half of the D-sub signal connection — mates with the corresponding pin contact in a standard HDP-20 housing. The contact is formed from phosphor bronze with a gold flash finish, which gives it decent corrosion resistance and a reasonable number of mating cycles for a field-serviceable connector. If you're re-pinning an existing HDP-20 harness on site, this is the socket you drop in with a standard crimp tool.
Rated for 22-26 AWG, this socket accepts the wire sizes you'd typically run in a D-sub signal harness — think control wiring, serial lines, or sensor loops. The crimp barrel is stamped and formed, so it's a one-piece design that grabs the conductor and insulation in a single crimp. No separate sleeve to lose on the truck floor.
The gold flash (a thin layer, not a heavy plating) on phosphor bronze keeps the contact resistance low at first mate and protects against mild oxidation in indoor or controlled environments. It's not built for thousands of mating cycles or salt-spray exposure — that would call for a thicker gold plate. For typical industrial panel or equipment interconnects where the connector gets mated a few dozen times over its life, this finish is adequate. The phosphor bronze base gives the contact beam good spring retention, so it won't take a set after a few insertions.
