The TE Connectivity Buchanan 796690-2 is a 2-position, single-level PCB terminal block from the Buchanan series, designed for wire-to-board power termination. It uses a screw-actuated rising cage clamp that accepts 12-30 AWG wire — the clamp lifts to capture the conductor against the tin-plated brass contact, not the screw itself, so the wire isn't damaged by the screw tip. Rated 17.5 A per position at 300 V, it's sized for power distribution, motor control, or power supply output — not signal-level work.

The rising cage clamp captures the wire with a brass, tin-plated clamp; the M3 screw is brass with nickel plating, torqued to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In). That torque spec is the factory recommendation — overtightening can strip the PA66 threads.
