7-Position IDC Connector for Ribbon Cable Harnesses
The JST 07DB-6S(LF) is a 7-position IDC connector from the DB series, designed for terminating stranded ribbon cable in a single press operation. The closed-end design prevents cable over-insertion and protects the first contact from damage during assembly. This connector is typically used for internal wire-to-board interconnects in consumer electronics, office equipment, and control panels where a compact, low-cost IDC termination is preferred over crimped contacts.
The wire gauge range is 24-28 AWG stranded only; solid-core wire will not seat properly in the IDC slot. The through-hole press-fit mounting provides mechanical retention on the PCB without requiring solder for the signal path, though the tails can be wave-soldered for additional board-level hold if needed.
Contacts are finished with tin-lead plating. This is a legacy finish — adequate for one-time or low-mating-cycle applications where the connector is assembled once and rarely disconnected.
