The 12-position count is the middle option in the single-row EH receptacle family, sitting between the 10-position EHR-10 and the 15-position EHR-15. Each cavity takes a JST SH crimp terminal (female socket), which is not included in this housing — you order the terminals separately by the reel or strip. That note on the listing is the one thing that trips up a first-time buyer: the housing alone is just the shell.
This receptacle mates with a JST EH series pin header with 0.098" (2.50 mm) pitch and 12 positions.
