The JST SHDR-40V-S-B is a 40-position receptacle housing from the SHD series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire harnesses using crimp contacts.
Wiring the Housing — Contacts and Mating Header
This is a crimp-and-poke housing: the installer strips the wire, crimps the appropriate female socket terminal, and inserts it into the cavity until the lance locks. The SHDR-40V-S-B mates with the corresponding SHD series pin header — the same 40-position, dual-row, 1.00 mm pitch layout. The housing is keyed (polarised) to prevent reverse insertion against the header, which is standard for the SHD series. The natural PBT colour and the pick-and-place feature (flat top surface) indicate this housing is also compatible with automated assembly handling, though the primary termination method is hand or semi-automated crimp.
