9-position SMT header for board-edge cable exits
The SM09B-PASS-TBT is a 9-position, single-row header from JST's PA series, on 2.00 mm pitch. It mounts surface-mount, right-angle, so the mating cable runs parallel to the board — useful in tight enclosures where vertical clearance is limited. The 4-wall shrouding protects the male pins during handling and guides the mating PA housing into alignment, reducing the chance of bent pins during assembly.
Locking ramp and automated assembly features
A locking ramp on the header engages with the matching PA receptacle housing, providing positive retention against vibration or cable tug — the connection won't walk loose in a moving assembly. The header includes pick-and-place and solder retention features, so it handles well in high-speed SMT lines and stays put during reflow without separate hold-downs.
