The JST VLP-02V-1 is a 2-position plug housing from the VL series, designed for wire-to-wire or wire-to-board crimp interconnect applications. It uses a 6.20mm pitch, giving good clearance for moderate-voltage wiring in industrial control panels, automotive harnesses, and appliance power distribution. The housing is molded from white PA66 (Nylon 6/6) with a latch lock that provides a positive audible click when fully mated to the matching receptacle — a useful feature in high-vibration or field-service environments where a loose connection is not acceptable.
The housing accepts female socket contacts terminated by crimping — the contacts are ordered separately. For a build-to-print cable assembly, the BOM must include the mating crimp terminals; the housing alone is just the shell. The single-row, 2-position layout keeps the assembly narrow, and the free-hanging (in-line) mounting means it is used as a plug on a wire harness, not soldered to a board. The latch lock holds the mated pair together under vibration without requiring a secondary screw or clip. In a field-service scenario, the latch can be released by pressing the tab — no tools needed. The operating temperature range of -25°C to 90°C covers most indoor and sheltered outdoor environments, though it is not rated for continuous immersion or washdown.
