6-Position VL Series Plug Housing
The JST VLP-06V is the 6-circuit plug housing from the VL series, a wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect family built around a 6.20 mm pitch. That pitch is wide enough to carry power-level current without the creepage headaches of a fine-pin connector — typical for appliance, automotive, and industrial harnesses where you need a rugged, field-serviceable mate. The housing takes female socket contacts (ordered separately) and terminates via crimp, so the harness builder crimps the terminals onto the wire ends, inserts them into the housing, and the latch lock holds the pair together under vibration.
Contacts Are a Separate Line Item
The VLP-06V ships as an empty housing — the note is explicit: Contacts Not Included. You need to order the matching VL-series female crimp terminals separately for the wire ends. The housing is white PA66 nylon, rated for -25°C to 90°C operation, which covers most under-hood and industrial cabinet environments. The latch lock gives a positive click when fully mated, and the free-hanging (in-line) mount means it sits in the harness, not on the board.
