What This Housing Is and What It Needs
The JST XADRP-32V is a 32-position, dual-row receptacle housing from the XAD series, designed for wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect applications. It uses a 0.098" (2.50mm) pitch and a latch lock for secure mating. The housing is natural-colored and accepts female socket contacts via crimp termination — but the contacts are not included and must be ordered separately. This is a free-hanging (in-line) connector, so it is not intended for PCB mounting; it terminates to discrete wires in a harness assembly.
Wiring and Contact Selection
Because the XADRP-32V ships without contacts, the harness builder must source the matching crimp terminals separately. JST offers a range of female socket contacts for the XAD series; the exact part number depends on the wire gauge being used. The crimp termination method requires a compatible hand or automatic crimp tool to achieve proper pull-force and retention. The latch lock provides a positive audible click when mated with the corresponding XAD series plug housing, giving vibration resistance suitable for automotive and industrial harnesses.
Temperature Range and Environment
It is not rated for continuous engine-bay heat or outdoor exposure beyond that range. For applications requiring higher temperature tolerance, a different series or a derating check would be needed.
