The JST XAP-05V-1 is a 5-position receptacle housing from the XA series, designed for free-hanging wire-to-board interconnects at a 0.098" (2.50mm) pitch. It uses a single-row layout with a latch lock for positive retention in harness assemblies. Contacts are not included with this housing — the buyer must order the matching female crimp terminals separately. The housing accepts crimp-terminated contacts that are inserted from the rear and retained by the latch lock. This is a standard wire-to-board receptacle that mates with the corresponding XA series pin header.
Mating and Termination
This receptacle housing mates with the JST XA series pin header of the same position count and pitch. The female socket contacts are crimped onto the wire (20–26 AWG typical for the XA series) and inserted into the housing cavities until the latch lock engages. The housing is a free-hanging (in-line) design — no panel mount or board retention features.
