The JST XHP-1 is a single-position receptacle housing from the XH series, designed for a 2.50 mm pitch crimp interconnect. It is a free-hanging (in-line) female housing that accepts the XH-series female socket contact — the contact itself is ordered separately. This 1-position housing is the simplest building block in the XH family: one wire, one terminal, one connection point. Typical use is a discrete wire-to-wire or wire-to-board junction where only a single circuit is needed — think sensor leads, thermostat connections, or a single power tap off a harness.
Why the 1-Position Housing Exists – and the Trap It Avoids
A 1-position housing looks like a throwaway part, but it solves a real harness problem: when you need exactly one wire terminated at a point — a single sensor, a one-wire ground splice, a dedicated power feed — you don't want to buy a multi-position housing and leave the other cavities empty. The XHP-1 mates with the same XH-series pin header as its 10-, 12-, and 13-position siblings (XHP-10, XHP-12, XHP-13), all at the same 2.50 mm pitch.
