The right-angle solder tail and through-hole mounting let the connector sit flush against the bulkhead while the board runs parallel to the panel face — a common layout in test equipment, RF distribution panels, and instrumentation where the BNC port is on the front panel and the PCB is stacked behind it. The bulkhead front-side nut secures the connector from the outside of the panel.
Board Lock and Isolated Body — What They Do for the RF Path
The isolated body means the connector shell is not tied to the board ground plane through the mounting hardware; the RF return path goes through the shield termination (solder) rather than the panel. This matters in systems where ground loops or common-mode currents on the chassis need to be kept out of the signal path. The kit includes the lockwasher and nut — the lockwasher prevents the nut from backing off under vibration, and the nut clamps the connector to the panel.
